Recall Alert: Playtex Pacifier Holder Clips

We have a recall notice for all you parents out there. Playtex has recalled their pacifier holder clips due to a choking hazard.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the clips can crack and a small part can break off.

The pacifier holder was sold in green with a monkey figure, pink with a flower, and blue with a tow truck. Major retailers such as Walmart, Target and Burlington Coat Factory sold the clips.

If you have bought the clips, retailers urge you to stop using them immediately. As off now, there have been close to a hundred reports of the holder cracking or breaking, but no reported injuries.  According to local health officials,  infants and young children naturally want put things in their mouth and small objects that you normally wouldn't notice are key targets for them to choke on. That's why officials want parents to always be aware.

"Usually age three and above, that's when their more exploratory; they put things in their mouth, and anything that is larger than the airways can be a potential obstruction. So it's important to note those things, and also read the warning labels," said Lloyd White, Administrator at the Marion County Health Department.
